With cell phones, I'm less concerned with my ability to have a private conversation and more concerned with other, the loud talkers!, imposing their conversations on me. There's something to be said for the cone of silence!

jacob, that's an interesting thought; that we might define god's will in the context of a relational god is good 'brainstorming' because it means that the world is about people and god (which one might call the two main facets of the kingdom).

i've always believed the will of god to be centered primarily in a moral framework. that god has moral will makes me believe that anything choice that falls within the moral will is essentially up to the individual. anything outside of it would be against god and so is simply not something one can say god wills.

so within god's moral will, one might simply ask, what is the more glorifying choice in the matter or situation. i like your thought on relationships because the core of ones relationship to god and to others is theologically love. we might, then, determine within the moral framework of any decision how one's action or decision truly impacts another person(s) the best in a way that reflects god's love--his glory--the most in his world; that being, his kingdom.

seems to me you have to almost ask the question, do we really get to make personal choices if "god's got a plan for your life"---such thing as free will?

brainstorming with you...
